Help grow a garden! We need your old metal items and dishes to transform the Children’s Library window well into a Whimsical Flower Garden made with recycled materials. Become part of this community-wide public art project. Drop off any of the following metal items or dishes between July 7 and August 8, 2008.

Flower parts Round metal pieces: (maximum 26 inches in diameter) gears, bicycle tire rims, bicycle sprockets, old silver platters, pulleys, vegetable steamers, metal hub caps, fans, propellers, machine parts, bunt pans, pan lids, torte pans, light fixture covers, and colanders.

Stems Long skinny metal pieces: copper tubing, rebar, electrical conduit, drill bits bicycle chain, and golf clubs.

Leaves Leaf shaped metal pieces: beaters, whisks, ceiling fan blade holders, bed springs, metal filings, old shovels, and metal shower rings.

Mosaic Tiles Brightly colored old dishes including china and stoneware.

Color a flower! Visit the Arts Council’s Follow Your Art! program on September 6 at Millennium Plaza and help make a flower for the Whimsical Flower Garden with artist Julie Brown.
